“Love Before You Act”

I didn’t come up with the sentence in the title myself – I copied it from someone, because it’s a really wise sentence in my opinion.

It is possible to originate movement in life from a fear-based thought, such as: “If I go to rest now then they will probably think I’m lazy, so it’s better if I keep working.”

It is also possible to originate movement from a love-based thought, such as: “I feel so tired, I better rest and refresh myself, and then if necessary – I’ll stay more late at work.”

Love is a choice that can be made consciously. There is a great video on YouTube by Bruce Lipton (search for “Bruce Lipton Choosing Love”). He was a 73 years old man when this video came out, and apparently happily married. He shares how he and his wife choose to love, every day anew.

Movement out of love

It’s funny… I was thinking recently about the original well-known proverb “Think before you act”. I thought about how confusing it might be, because it skips the most important step!

What step?

In Carlos Castaneda’s book, the amazing Don Juan tells him (I’ll try to stay true to the original meaning) that before making a decision it can be helpful to think about the issue, gather information and consult people, etc – but in the moment of truth, when you’re making the decision, he should forget all his thoughts and calculations, and make the decision from a ‘place’ of inner silence.

In Human Design, this ‘place’ is called the “Inner Authority”.

This inner silence / inner authority is about letting go of the mind and its inner dialogue. Letting go of trying to control reality or to create a specific outcome. To release everything… and then, at some point, something comes up. Quietly, without words, without explanations, something arises from within, and it comes from our deepest and wisest place, the place that is connected to the infinite wisdom that reaches beyond the limits of this physical body. From within the infinite.

It can be frightening. It can feel like jumping into a pool without knowing if it’s filled with water. What we don’t know is that it’s not a pool at all – it’s a gate that leads to the magical side of this world.

You’ve read it all… cool!
